With over 20 years experience working in the construction industry and a second generation master carpenter, Eric Brennan knows home improvement. Eric began working as a construction writer in 2005. He has since honed his writing skills with such websites and companies as DIY Network, DeWalt, Yahoo!, AT&T, Huffington Post, Man of the House.com, P&G Tide and many others.

With years of experience in the field of home improvement (both in the deck & fence business and as a freelance writer), Diana brings plenty of knowledge to the table. Diana also a homeowner with a handy husband living in a standard-sized bungalow with three kids and two guinea pigs. Talk about a recipe for learning about renovations and remodeling on the fly. Their family has a passion for togetherness, and living with less goes along well with that goal.

LeRoy is a happy husband and father of two. He is a licensed contractor and environmental scientist who enjoys building and remodeling older homes and trying to become completely self-sufficient . Among other hobbies he and his wife enjoy organic gardening. He also writes for HomeFixated.

Kate Drexler is a professional writer who has worked in the green building arena for more than five years. With a background in energy efficiency and renewable energy, her main areas of expertise are designing new homes and retrofitting existing homes to optimize water and energy usage with the goal of ultimately saving homeowners money on their utility bills and improving the quality of the environment.

That’s “whole shoe”, if you’re wondering. Joe is a writer and DIY small house enthusiast. When he isn’t writing, he and his beautiful wife can be found restoring their 1936 Bungalow. After building her own small house in ’04/’05 (with a lot of help from friends and family) Anne has definitely been bitten by the building bug. Daydreaming about floor plans, alternative construction methods, and energy independence is a regular occurrence. Even though she no longer lives in the little dream house she built she continues to do multiple home improvements on the small house she, her son, and 2 dogs live in now. Amie Martin and her husband have been in the home remodeling business for over ten years. They have worked toward making their own, small Missouri home both more sustainable and more customized to fit their family’s needs for the last six years. They spend nearly all rare & spare moments realizing home projects as a design & build team and look forward to many projects ahead. Anthony Procaccini is currently a Program Analyst with the State of North Carolina. He was a homebuilder in Washington, D.C for over five years, constructing everything from Estate homes to low income, mixed use projects in the heart of D.C. Anthony has moved to North Carolina to become active with Energy Efficient home construction and retrofit. He is a BPI Certified Building Analyst, Envelope Professional, Manufactured Home Specialist and a HERS Field Inspector. His work with the State of North Carolina focuses on training and monitoring of energy efficient home retrofit projects.

Penny Swift has been writing about homes, building, decorating and landscaping for more than three decades, and is the author of numerous books on related subjects. She has owned, rented and built homes – and established a number of gardens, along with garden features and solid brick and timber structures – and has a considerable amount of knowledge and experience to share with others.
